I
have photographed nature for more than forty years.
My family gave me a 35 mm SLR
camera when I was an undergraduate student, and since then I have always carried a camera whenever I travel.
Born and
educated in Australia, I have lived in the United States for over 30 years.
Since retiring from a faculty position, I have pursued my passion
— digital photography.
As an
earth and environmental scientist I am continually awed by the beauty and diversity of
America’s natural and urban landscapes, and how we have interacted — not always
beneficially — with these environments.
I
am also fascinated with America's history.
I
try to capture these themes in my images.
