The Economy

In 2003, about 1.9 million people worked in Alabama and the state's GSP (Gross State Product: a measure of the value of the total goods and services produced in a state) was $132 billion, the 25th largest state economy in the USA. If Alabama was a country, it had the 35th largest economy in the world, larger than such countries as Egypt, New Zealand and Venezuela.
